Cities: Skylines 2: Mod Support and Asset Pack “Beach Properties” Launching This Month

Five months after its release, Cities: Skylines 2 is set to introduce modding support this month alongside the launch of the first asset pack called “Beach Properties.”

Exciting Times for Modders: Public Beta Begins March 25

Colossal Order announced, “Modding is the lifeblood of Cities: Skylines and we’re excited to start our public modding beta.” They further expressed their enthusiasm, “The creativity and feedback from our players make this community great and we can’t wait to see what they create using the tools we provide.”

Creating Custom Maps and Implementing Code Mods: Tools for Asset Creation Coming Later This Year

From March 25, players will be able to create custom maps using the in-game Editor and implement Code Mods, both of which can be shared through the Paradox Mods platform. Tools for asset creation and other modding options are scheduled to be released later this year as Colossal Order continues to expand the modding tools, giving players more freedom to build their dream cities.

“Throughout the process, we will be taking your opinion into consideration when we continue to work on the editor and are looking forward to seeing the feedback that you might have,” Colossal Order added.

What’s Included in Beach Properties Asset Pack and DLC: 10 North American and contact Residential Buildings, 6 Signature Builds, New Trees, and a Radio Station

The Beach Properties asset pack includes 10 North American residential buildings with three levels, 10 contact residential buildings with three levels, six signature builds, and four new trees.

The asset pack DLC will cost $9.99 but is also available as part of the Expansion Pass: Waterfronts that was included in the Ultimate Edition of the game.

Deluxe Relax Station: A New Radio Station Available March 25 for $4.99

Additionally, a new in-game radio station — Deluxe Relax Station — will be available starting March 25 for $4.99.
